St Cedd’s Breakfast Club will start on Monday 6th January 2020, from 7.30am, Monday – Friday. We will be offering an early morning mini bus pick up from St Lawrence at 7.15am to support parents/carers with transport.
All children attending our breakfast club will be given a choice of breakfast which includes cereals, toast, crumpets, fruit and a drink to give them the best start to the day! After breakfast, children are able to participate in a range of fun activities before the school day begins, such as games and crafts.
Parents/carers lead busy lives and can sometimes find it a struggle to keep up with homework tasks. At breakfast club, a table will be set up where children can read or complete Times Tables Rockstars.
At the end of the session, the children will be taken to their classroom to begin the school day.
Students who eat breakfast before starting their school day not only concentrate better, but they tend to score better on academic tests such as maths, reading and science. According to a study published in the Journal of Economics, students in schools that offered breakfast before class scored about 25 percent higher on math, reading and science tests. Researchers believe that this is because the breakfast provides the energy necessary to increase cognitive or thinking, speed and problem-solving skills.
Breakfast club costs £3.00 per session, which includes breakfast/drink. The mini bus costs £1.00 per day. Individual payment plans will be set up for how many days that half term you would like your child/ren to attend. All payments will be paid half termly via SchoolMoney.
We look forward to seeing many of the children there!
